What’s the difference between FEASIBILITY STUDIES and TRADE STUDIES?

FEASIBILITY STUDIES and TRADE STUDIES do overlap.  Both are early phase technology assessments that generally save a lot of time and money in the overall life of a product development project.

But they are distinctly different-

FEASIBILITY STUDIES Determine the likelihood that a proposed product or development will satisfy the design objectives.  Focus is principally of technical performance.  Multiple acceptable solutions can result from a Feasibility Study.

TRADE STUDIES.  Also known as trade-off studies, identifies the most balanced technical solution among a set of proposed viable solutions (FAA 2006).  The study evaluates for a series of criteria (i.e. cost, performance, manufacturability, reliability, etc.) and in most cases recommends an overall best solution

It is not essential to know the difference.  When you contact ACT, we’ll guide you to the right services based on your needs.
